Samsung is expected to announce three new foldable phones and two new smartwatches later this month. Then, two months later, the company could unveil its next-generation flagship tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra.
A tipster with a decent track record has claimed that Samsung will announce the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra in September this year.
Last year, the South Korean firm launched only the Galaxy Tab S11+ and the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, suggesting there won’t be a base (11-inch) model in the Galaxy Tab S12 lineup. Both upcoming tablets could feature a punch-hole cutout in the display for the front-facing camera.
Galaxy Tab S12+ and Tab S12 Ultra expected specs
Based on what we know so far, the Galaxy Tab S12+ will feature a 12.4-inch display, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will have a 14.6-inch display. They will likely use OLED screens with up to 120Hz variable refresh rate.
Both tablets are expected to be powered by MediaTek’s 3nm Dimensity 9500 processor. They could also feature 12GB of RAM and at least 256GB of internal storage. Both devices are expected to include a microSDXC card slot for storage expansion.
The Galaxy Tab S12+ could be powered by a 10,500mAh or 10,600mAh battery. The battery capacity of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra hasn’t leaked yet. Both tablets are also expected to feature a 12MP front-facing camera capable of recording 4K video.
Samsung will likely ship the Galaxy Tab S12 series with Android 17-based One UI 9.0 out of the box. Based on Samsung’s current software update policy, the tablets could receive seven generations of Android OS upgrades, up to Android 24, along with security updates for up to seven years.
Other expected features include an in-display fingerprint reader, S Pen support, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, quad speakers with Dolby Atmos, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and a USB 3.2 Type-C port.
